Consumer projects to be funded

Three consumer projects from Community Psychiatric Clinic were recently funded by the King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse and Dependency Services Division.

Clean Start consumers will receive $650 to start a Housing Resource Center, which will include housing information and a support group featuring a variety of guest speakers. Consumer volunteers will develop and maintain the center.

Consumers at the Sunrise Center were granted $800 to expand their newsletter with a laser printer and new software. The newsletter publication helps develop writing, computer and vocational skills, as well as empowers contributors through their written voice.
Wallingford House consumers also received funding for a newsletter, in the amount of $1,050. The newsletter will be developed by consumers and help them network with other clubhouses around the country, as well as gain valuable vocational skills.
