CPC receives County funding to create Employment Services

Reflecting its commitment to the recovery model, King County Mental Health Chemical Abuse and Dependence Services, in partnership with the Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, recently created new funding to develop specialized vocational programs for enrolled consumers in King County. These innovative employment centers, known as Regional Employment Services and Placement Centers (RESPCs), offer a comprehensive array of vocational services to consumers including motivational groups, job clubs, vocational assessment, job placement, supported employment, and follow-up support services for those who successfully maintain employment. The centers hope to serve 800 consumers per year.

Funding to create the employment centers was awarded to Community Psychiatric Clinic, and a consortium led by Transitional Resources, in partnership with Highline West Seattle Mental Health and Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation.

Community Psychiatric Clinic has established two regional centers that will serve Seattle, North and East King County. The centers provide access to computer labs, resource libraries, classes and employment assessments to assist in job training and job search activities. CPC offers a range of employment opportunities through consumer operated businesses that include recycling and vending businesses. Job sites and employment opportunities are provided through a network of relationships and production contracts CPC has with area businesses.
