Stepworks Vocational Program
Community Psychiatric Clinic’s Stepworks Vocational Program provides specialized vocational services to individuals who are recovering from mental illness and/or chemical dependency and seeking to return to the workforce. Founded in 1983, Stepworks has helped more than 2,500 clients experience the financial, social, and personal benefits of employment. Success at meaningful employment provides income, a sense of productivity and independence, and increases feelings of self-respect and hopefulness.
Stepworks offers a range of vocational options and supports including agency-operated businesses, supported employment positions, and individual placement services. Vocational services are provided in conjunction with referring agencies, case managers, residential providers, and other members of a client's treatment team. Stepworks creates work opportunities for clients by maintaining a strong relationship with the business community and by working with employers to train and support clients as they integrate into the workforce.
Stepworks is a Community Rehabilitation Program, and a vendor with the Washington State Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), and the King County Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
Stepworks accepts clients with a referral from a case management program (CPC, another mental health agency, DVR, or another authorized provider). Individuals interested in making a referral or receiving services through Stepworks should call the program directly at 206-545-2400. Stepworks main office is in our Wallingford location.
