The Willows Family Transitional Housing Program
The Willows is a 24-hour supervised transitional housing program. This program is unique in King County and provides housing, treatment and significant additional on-site support for 15 mothers with young children, recovering from mental illness, chemical dependency and homelessness. The Willows is located in the White Center neighborhood of southwest Seattle.
Services provided at The Willows include:
- Staff coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
- Recovery support for mental health, drugs and alcohol
- Prevocational and vocational services
- Activities of daily living training
- Family support services
- Referral to self-help groups and other community resources
- Social skills and other recovery support groups
- On-site recreational activities
- Crisis intervention services
- Parenting skills development
- Access to emergency medical services
- Transition and follow-up services post-discharge
- Coordination with treatment providers and collateral services
