Taking the First Step
Whether you, your family member, or an outside provider has referred you to us for treatment, the steps to follow are basically the same. The first step is to contact our front desk to schedule an appointment, if you haven’t already. The front desk staff at our Fremont location provides a single point of access to the treatment available throughout all our locations.
The type of services you will be making an appointment for are:
- Comprehensive drug and alcohol assessment
- Provide a deferred prosecution assessment and letter to the courts for an additional fee if necessary
- Coordinate placement into an Inpatient facility if needed after the initial assessment
- Provide both Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient groups
- Assist individuals in locating other referral sources available within the community.
During this first phone call, you will be asked to provide information such as your name, address, contact information, date of birth, and social security number, type of funding, as well as information about your drug and alcohol concerns; all of this information is kept confidential (see our Privacy Policy). We have regular appointments, “stand by” appointments which are not guaranteed, but there is a good chance you will be seen, and “first come first serve” appointments the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 1pm to 3pm. The “stand by” appointments are always much sooner than regular appointments and you can do both - make a regular appointment and a stand by appointment, which can significantly shorten the wait time for an initial appointment.
Once we determine if our services are right for you, the phone screener will work with you to schedule an appointment for your face-to-face assessment.
Talk with a Chemical Dependency Professional
An assessment appointment is where an experienced and caring Chemical Dependency Professional meets with you to determine if the drug and alcohol concerns you are experiencing meet the criteria for placement in treatment, if our services could be beneficial to you, and how we can work together to assist in your recovery. This appointment can take from 2 to 3 hours, depending on your personal situation, needs, and issues.
Getting Started
Depending on the results of your assessment, CPC will do one of two things: enroll you in treatment with us, or refer you elsewhere if another provider might meet your needs better. If we enroll you in treatment, we will assign you a counselor that will best fit your needs at the location that is most convenient for you.
Services
Your counselor will be your primary point of contact for all of the chemical dependency services you receive at CPC. It is his or her job to help you receive the services necessary to aid you in your recovery. CPC provides a wide range of recovery-oriented treatment options for individuals and/or families dealing with chemical dependency and/or mental health issues. Your individualized treatment plan could include any one or a combination of the following services:
- Individual and group therapy
- Education on drugs and alcohol, relapse prevention, reducing stress, resources available to you, and other subjects that might help you and/or your family manage and understand addiction
- Peer support, support groups and advocacy
- Case management and services coordination
- Referrals to other organizations in the community that might help you
- Referral to housing or residential assistance
- Referral to vocational services and support
