Shirley Havenga,
Chief Executive Officer
Shirley Havenga is the Chief Executive Officer of Community Psychiatric Clinic, a comprehensive behavioral healthcare organization in King County that provides mental health treatment and substance abuse services to over 6,000 persons annually. Shirley has been instrumental in developing a continuum of housing and residential services that includes 680 beds in 40 sites across King County.
Shirley has dedicated her more-than-35-year career to working in public mental health systems to improve service access and service delivery for our most vulnerable citizens who suffer from mental illness and chemical dependency. She joined the team at Community Psychiatric Clinic in 1995 and prior, served as Executive Director of Mental Health North. Shirley has a Master’s in Public Administration from Seattle University, and a Master’s in Counseling.
Shirley has served on many state and local planning groups providing leadership and advocacy on behalf of consumers. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Washington Community Mental Health Council and the Board of Directors of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, representing providers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. She is also a member of Mental Health Corporations of America and the American College of Mental Health Administration.
